Since Imperial and Schrade were cousins I'll risk asking the question on this forum. Do any of you know if Imperial used the tang stamp, "Hammer Brand" in name only, or did they also use the raised forearm, forging hammer in hand, along with it. The raised forearm, along with "Hammer Brand " was originally a New York Knife Co. trademark. Any insight into this would be appreciated. Thank you and a "Merry Christmas" to all.,,Dale H.

Come to my web site.
You are correct Hammer was once New York Knife. Imperial bought the name and produced Hammer Brand for many years.
Schrade and Imperial merged under the Baer ownership.

Be well.

Imperial did use the raised arm with the hammer along with the name HAMMER BRAND. On most all of the Imperial Hammer Brand tang stamps they also added "U.S.A." It is often vertical to the right of the arm & hammer. New York Knife did not use USA on their tangs.

Hope this helps,
Dale

Irv & Dale, Thanks for your response. Your answers helped a lot about a little 2 blade folder I have. Tang stamp omitted Imperial. Thank you, Merry Christmas to you, Dale H.
