Hey guys, i was wondering if you could help me out. Im considering purchasing some shell handled imperial jackmasters, but i cant find any info on whether or not theyre stainless or carbon blades. Its the standard serpintine jack, 3 1/8" model number is quoted as 801. Stainless would be a dealbreaker for me, and the seller has no idea. Any help would be appreciated

Heres a picture. Not a very good one, but enough to get the general idea. Tang stamp is the last one imperial used, from 1955- 1988 i believe

I'm trying to think if I ever saw a stainless Imperial, with the possible partial exception of an Imperial Ireland stockman. I have one something like the one posted, that is definitely carbon.

Well i think imperial made some stainless fixed blades, but ive never heard of or seen a stainless imperial folder. I just wanted to be sure because of the whole schrade stainless switcheroo.

From what i understand, schrade and imperial were owned by the same people, hence my uncertainty

I've been looking at those for awhile haha, I bought a fixed blade from that same person.

I'm pretty sure the tang stamp would say stainless, I have a stainless imperial lockback that says so IIRC. I can confirm when I get home and email you some pics if you would like.

I have a 3" two-blade Imperial jackknife that does have stainless blades...but it says so on the master (Turkish clip) blade. It has the "Razor blade Stainless" etch. I have found the stainless used is very good, taking and holding an edge quite well.

Regards,
Ron
