I hate stuff in the clam package cause you cant get it out and play with it, BUT, Im very drawn to it for some reason. Maybe it makes me feel like I have a little store of my own or something,LOL. Anybody else got any cool imperials in the clam packages?? - Joel

I always open the clam packs... then set aside the cardboard for safekeeping. Glennbad is obviously a stronger-willed individual than I am. :)
 
For a collector are the knives worth more left in the package or does it matter? I left mine sealed but I wonder about leaving the blades half open damaging the spring.
 
Products almost always have more collector value if they are in the original packaging. It shows that nobody has used it, or tampered with the product. The packaging usually has neat advertising or artwork on it, that you would otherwise not see in the product by itself.

And the packaging also helps to date the product more precisely.

As far as willpower, Bob, I have very little. The key is to buy two of the same thing, then it's easier to leave the first one untouched. :D
