Well, I guess Carl finally got to me.:D I found this little guy and just couldn't pass it up.

It's even smaller than I expected, but that's not necessarily bad. It is super lightweight and would disappear in almost any pocket. The action is a little rough and needs some oil worked into it. The blades could use a sharpening as well(won't even cut paper). Aside from that it's a nice little knife.

Congrats on a nice find!

(Though I wouldn't travel anywhere near the Maryland Eastern Shore with that knife...I'm just sayin'...:p)

I'm betting that if you take it to Texas you'll find a gentleman that will convince you that the Tejas heat has ruined the temper and will talk you into leaving it with him. :D
Good looking nut!

Thanks guys. After a good cleaning and oiling the grittiness is gone. It made short work of a venison steak and peeled an apple, giving it a little color.

I'll have to remember that when I head down that way later this year.;)

Thats a great little jack!

It'd fit right in down on the far shore, small serpintine jacks were in almost every pocket back in the day. For slicing a piece of yellow chedder cheese off the hunk on Jenkins counter or a chaw off the plug, it was a dandy little cutter. It was only for skinnin out that illeagal marsh deer that the leather handle little finn's came out.:D

Hi,

Those little Imperials are appealing little knives. They are far from fancy or pretentious. They are just good knives. I've got a couple of small Jacks floating around here. I miss seeing them on the counter by the cash register in the hardware store.

I like the crown shield on yours. The whole knife looks virtually unused. A very nice score!

That is a really nice knife you have there. I like the color of the handle. Like ole Henry Ford said--[You can have any color you want as long as it's black]. thanks for posting.

Now that I looked at it again I saw some dark brown-redish hue in it. Oh well so much for old eyes--even with glasses on. LOL.
