imperial pen knife

:)i have a small imperial pen knife(USA) two blade and bail.it has a reed&barton 14kt gold ingot in the handle,on the bail it says sterling R&B. any info will be a great help. sorry no pics...

the length of the knife is 2 3/4 closed, main blade is 1 3/8 long, small blade is 1 1/8. my opinion is that the handle is also sterling, could be wrong...
 
have no account on photobucket, one more thing about the knife, the gold ingot is .5 grams.
