I Know that MRL had some quality problems in the past. Can anyone comment on Imperial swords, since they are also made in India?

I'm afraid I do not have any firsthand knowledge of Imperial offerings, however a friend of mine heard from Tuscany Trading (I think) and was told that the Imperial weapons will be pretty good for the money. As for MRL, the windlass offerings they had have been shunned and overall disliked for a while...though they say the quality's been gradually improving. I'd like to hear from anyone who has experience with modern MRL stuff, thanks.

Robert,

I think that MRL stuff is still junk. My brother inlaw recently bought one of their roman Gladius' this sword was not inexpensive and the quality was crap! The blade was uneven, it was unground(as usual). The sheath was covered in a decorative copper sheet which was simply sniped out and bent over the scabbard and then the sharp jagged edges were folded over into the opening of the scabbard. Every time you remove, or re-sheath the sword, it gets REALLY scrached up. The scabbard does not hold the sword snug AT ALL, it justs drops right in and there is a small gap. This is the third item I have seen from MRL and quite frankly they all suck. It is amazing that they get away with this crap! I will never buy anything from them that "they" make. If anyone is looking for a quality product, I would stay away from MRL. Just my opinion
