Imperial Slipjoint with Integral Key: What did I find?

Poking around my parent's house this weekend I happened upon this little guy. An Imperial slip joint advertising an automotive dealership in Chicago with a fold-out key. I've never seen anything like this before, anyone have an information on similar models/styles?

The key does fold out all the way and is marked with a "GM" stamp.

It's a car key. Imperial made a series of these with blank keys, and you could get it cut so you always had a spare.

Any idea how long ago they were done?
I'm wondering what my chances are of finding one with an uncut key(my Buick takes the short GM keys)

Mostly late 60s-early 70s. There's an uncut one on the 'Bay right now- do a search for "Imperial key knife".
