Imperial ?

Hi all, new member here. I have what appears to be a bayonet. It is Imperial and says M79. Almost looks like am M16 bayonet but no place to attach to gun. Looks like a pry bar on end. Any ideas? THANKS

Thanks again guys. Very informative. I did searched on line n could not find anything. Later i will post a pic of a knife i bought about 35 years ago. Supposedly this guy worked as a mercenary and made knoves. Had a write up in Soldier of Fortune mag back then.

I remember those back in the 80s. Some were sold with a camo nylon sheath in a plastic clamshell package. I used to long for one.
