Hi Gang! With the arrival of my C91SYL Pacific Salt, I now have in my possession a classic Endura handle and folder design that can be disassembled. And, a thin, light weight folder that will NOT rust. This is my second Spyderco with the Spyder serrations. I have come to prefer the serrated blade for obvious reasons and it's chisel grind, kinda. If you are on the fence about getting a Spyderco Salt H1 series folder, wait no longer!!

I love the fact that it is rust proof. I do alot of benefit chicken and fajita plates, well I am one of the head cooks anyway and I like the fact I can whoop out the Pacific when I dont have one of my kitchen knives around and set it aside with out totally wiping off the grease when cutting up the fajitas. It wont rust at all. I have some rust on ats34, 154cm and other knives that I forget to clean after getting home. This one I just scrub down with warm soapy waster and its good to go. I am seriously thinking of taking the hollow grind up a little higher on mine.

All of my Salts are pinned, not screwed.

Hard to believe I have not purchased a new SALT in almost two years, although I have lost two. Time to make a purchase I guess.

Enjoy your Pacific Salt. That is my most carried model.

hmmm... I must have the latest model. Thanks.
And I agree, a knife that will not rust ever, is pretty cool.

I have the older pinned model and it was my most used folder for the longest time. Now it's mostly reserved for beach or pool days.

I do wish I could take it apart and clean it. It has some grittiness I haven't been able to wash out. And (at least in my model) the H1 logo on the blade did rust, most of it came out when i scrubbed it with some oil.

If you^ got most of the grime out, you should be GTG.
I had a Mission MPF ti but that folder is overkill, for me.

the Spydie H1 Salt series are the greatest knives for folks like me down here on the Gulf of Mexico... i cherish my USN Catcherman and my Salt 1, which has been carried for nearly six years with no rust, even while living on a salt-water peninsula (my 9spd bikes all rust they components, with the exception of the Wipperman chains, which are stainless steel - mandatory 'round these parts)

i like being able to rinse my Spydie Salt out in the warm Gulf water while fishing, and not having to worry about rust!

i'm a fan for life!

on the corrosive Gulf of Mexico

I am with you on that one Linux! I am on border and by the sea. Sweat and salt are common around here. H1 may not hold an edge as good as S30V or similar but it dont rust in these corrosive environments and that is awesome!

I am thinking about one of these. Mainly because I work around chemicals and such. So I usually carry a beater knife around. H1practically wont rust. And the serrations won't make me worry so much about occasionally hitting something.

Thanks guys.
The Salts are THE folder to own. I believe the word is still getting out there slowly. But, it'll catch on fast.

Yeah I scuba dive a good amount, and I leave one on a retractor on my bc. All it ever gets for maintenance is when I dunk my bc in a water bin after I dive. Zero rust

Rolfs, I carry one in my emergency first aid kit. Its a cool design and I really liked it when I first got it but I found the steel is kinda soft.
