Implicit Membership

Shouldn't BFC membership benefits be implicit i.e. each membership inherits all the permissions from the membership below it?

Well, a Knifemaker should probably be the only ones able to sell in the Knifemakers' forum. However, since the cost is greater than Gold, they should be able to sell in the regular forums as well. I mean, how many knifemakers only have in their posession knives they made themselves?

I think the rest are fine, although I guess there is an issue of a person who makes knives, but is also a Platinum member (there's a couple of these I think). Maybe there's a need for combination memberships.

Having a Knife-maker membership is not indicative of one's knife-making skills. Any membership above knife-maker should be able to sell homemade shivs where and if they wish. You wont find many members forking out for a platinum and then selling shivs though

I totaly agree I don't know where to go!We do custom knives and want to support this forum.So we went plat.and I am making alot of people mad,and I really don't mean to.Dad is very far away and sickHe was thinking of quiting the knife making,his true passion.I just need peoples understanding and patcients.He needs this to keep going.So,his work is outstanding,several of you have agreeded with me.We must merge membershipto make it sensable and user friendly.Please bare with me I will get it all right. that is all keep a look to cause this one will be real (I promise) kristy

Sorry to hear that Don's not well, The flames you recieaved ticked me off. As with any thing else, we have a lot of self centered, better than though, jerks. The same people are usualy nice to your face, but in here, they have they'er little security blankets, and love to snipe. Don't let the bad apples bother you. Don's work requires no apologies. Glad to see you here. I haven't gone knife maker on BF, Simply to avoid being accused of trying to sell someone here a knife. Have plenty of buisness with the hassel. Hope don gets better.
