I'm in Taiwan currently, will be sending 2 knives as gifts to a friend and his mother.. What do I have to do, as far as declaration, and / or do I need to include a receipt or how much is tax or what???

I did a search online, and came up with nothing.. any help would be appreciated..

When you go to the post office, you will fill out a CN-22 Customs Decleration. If it is valued over a certain amount or is insured they may ask you to fill out a different form. On it, you will list the contents of the package, and appx. weight, and value. There is a series of tick boxes usually indicating whether the contents are a gift, documents, comercial samples, other__________. Since it's a gift, you'll select gift (the description is usually in the local language and French. In Frech, gift is Cadeau). Generally, packages indicated as gifts will not incurr the recipient customs fees. That decleration will be attached to the package.
