Nara has finished up his immediate farm work and has gone to work on some khukuris for us. He is not sure he will get every order to the gnat's eyebrow but he will do his best and toss in some various styles and sizes. He has no help so it will be slow going. When he gets five or six completed we will try to send them.

As I predicted years Nara's son, Surya, has left home and does not care to make a career of farming and pounding hot steel. I can't blame him.

Nara will make the khukuris, good stout village style. BirGorkha will make scabbards and 100 year HI superfrogs.

Gelbu said he got some pix up at Nara's and will be sending them to us -- Nara revisited!

If you get a "Nara Special" like the one he is pictured with I would like to be logged for one, please.
Thanks from Greg.

Strange, I was just wondering about this topic earlier today (Twilight Zone theme). It's good news to hear and I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for the update , Uncle Bill .I can`t wait to get my hands on my "Nara Special" . Please send Nara my best wishes ,I hope he and his family are well and the crops are good this year .Cheers,Mark

Uncle Bill,
I'm also eagerly awaiting the results of Nara's efforts. I just looked again at the pictures of his home and arun on your website, and although it seems to be fairly hilly terrain I couldn't get a good overall view. Can you give us an idea of the area where he's located and the kinds of crops he grows there?
Berk

Bill,
Send a thank you to Nara for going to such great lengths to make khukuris for us.
Leo

Nara is located about 30 kilometers from BirGorkha -- in an area called the "middle hills", a temperate zone where the growing season is quite long (perennial for some stuff). He can grow just about anything he wants during warm months and probably does. I can't make it up the hills to his place without the help of a horse, pony or yak to ride.

Dayum the foibles of Webtv!!!
I tried going to the H.I. link that Berk put up twice and the file is just too big. I got kicked off line both times!!

I haven't been there for a while but it was okay last time.
One of these days I may have to get a real computer, but I am really spoiled to some of the benefits Webtv has.
