The governor of the US state of New Jersey has resigned, saying he is gay. James McGreevey, a married father of two, told reporters in the state capital of Trenton Thursday he had had an affair with a man. He called himself "a gay American."

What are we gonna do!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
 
All I gotta say, as a New Jerseyan is *$@$^&$&! No wait. I mean, I am glad he is OUT ... out of the closet and OUT of the governor's office in November. He is the most corrupt official we've had since Torricelli.
You know, we don't have toxic waste here in NJ... we have toxic politicians. :P
 
I find it . . . ahh, interesting . . . that NBC Nightly News managed to cover the story without ever mentioning the Gov's party affiliation. When I pointed that out, my better half said, "Must be a D." She is soooooooo cynical.

Drudge is carrying the story on his site. Says the guy he had an affair with is an Israeli poet who was, I believe, his homeland security advisor. Apparently he was going to try to blackmail this govoner to the tune of millions of dollars. I don't feel to sorry for this gov but it's gotta be rough on his kid.

Not surprising since a recent study found that most Homosexuals are Democrats. The study also found that most Pedophiles are Republicans, or consider themselves Conservatives.

However, Compulsive Masturbators are equally distributed among both parties, but most consider themselves Independents.

The thing that stuck out to me about his speech was how indignant and smiley-faced he was. No true remorse. Sure, it was written into his speech. But he pretty much said "I'm being forced out of office".... compare that to: "My daddy's great, my mama's great...I'm just a ****head" (Jeff Foxworthy - You might be a redneck).

I'm a Democrat. Does that put me at risk for being gay? I WILL say I have a strong "independant" streak :cool: (emoticon intended to symbolize blindness) ;)

As another New Jerseyian I'd like to chime in on this one. The issue is not
his being gay. The issue is; he put his love interest, a poet, who is not a US citizen in as his Homeland Securty advisor. The man was not qualified for this important position. He placed his lifestyle interests ahead of the safety of my family. The issue now is who else did he appoint to positions that
they are not qualified for? What laws, contracts and other points of running the state did he sign solely to support or protect his "secret"? His whole governership is now suspect.
