So after questions on the forums and hundreds of emails I found myself asking, "Why Garth, why only orange and black g10 handles. Why not other options?"
So I grabbed a shot and a beer and sat down to ponder. That didn't work so I grabbed another shot and another beer and started over.
Then like sunlight breaking through the clouds it hits me. "Its all about the price. Its about the deal we can offer all of our knife friends."
Let me explain....
We have a very, extremely, ridiculously, limited number of these great knives available. We were able to get the price down on these for the Santaganzaa because we were able to use leftover pieces of orange and black g10 material that we found in the back of the shop.
With the time that goes into making these knives, coupled with having to talk the guys in the Custom Shop into putting down their drinks and hollow grinding them, the prices we are selling them for tonight would normally be the price that we would sell them for with canvas micarta.
As our way of saying Merry Christmas, we are offering the orange and black g10 which would normally be a $35 upcharge for the price of canvas micarta. With the special deal on the pair that is available tonight, we are actually coming in under the price of canvas micarta if you buy the pair.
