I have just received today a CRKT DRIFTER 6450S model , with aluminium handles.
I am really impressed by this little inexpensive knife - I have paied 21.50$ shipped to Canada -
Feels good in hand, it can be opened quite facile, the look is simple and nice and the lock is ROCK SOLID - the framelock engages the blade 70% .
There's absolutely no blade play . Very firm .
The knife came very sharp...

I like everything ...even the weight , which is 93 gr. The heavier a knife it is the more I like it :)

I was hesitating between a PAZODA 6480 - same size and weight - , a BUCK NOBLEMAN and this DRIFTER and I am happy I have finally chosen this one as I like its form of the blade more than the PAZODA. I gave up at the BUCK NOBLEMAN as the steel was inferior to the 8Cr13MoV of the DRIFTER.

I was planning to use this knife as an EDC - basically to cut papers or to open the parcels - but I guess I will buy a cheaper knife for that purpose .
I think I will protect - I will not use - this little fellow as I am doing with my large knives :
KS FULL SIZE CYCLONE
KS BLUR
KS LAHAR
BM SKIRMISH and miniSKIRMISH
BYRDs and the TENACIOUS

There are alot of real nice EDC folders out there that can be had for very little money. I know alot of people here spout hate for Columbia River but I have 6-7 knives from them starting from low end china 440 to their high end lines and don't have a complaint about them yet. Columbia River Lightfoot for example. Of course it will not be as nice as an actual Lightfoot, but for a 30 dollar EDC knife it does a great job.

I liked CRKT pretty well until I used a couple of their models and had the edge fold.
I've used other brands, such as Kershaw, Spyderco and Buck for the same purpose (cutting thorn branches and small green limbs off hiking trails) with no problem.

the drifter is a decent little frame lock, mine was only $17 shipped.

I was very impressed with the little Pazoda I got , 12$ ! Solid little knife and small enough not to scare the sheeps. :D

Thanks for the review , I was thinking on getting one of the G10 models of the Drifter.

The Natural is looking pretty nice too.

I actually paid about $10 shipped for my Drifter. :)
It's a good knife. I carry and use it a lot.

Its a great little knife. I can't get it out of my hands. It has a few problems though. It's too small! Well let me quantify that. It's not big enough is more like it. I'd love to see a Drifter II. This design is begging for a $40 big brother. A 3.5 inch blade model would be the ticket. The pocket clip should be reversible and a little more simple. I know they probably made it wide to protect the frame lock from over opening but give me a simple straight standard pocket clip not a designer one please. These things are all personnal taste however the dual stud is a design flaw. The stud on the pocket clip side is too tall. It will trap and wear your pocket edge like crazy. It sticks up far enough so as to trap the edge of the clothing under the pocket clip. Pull the knife out of your pockets and you will get your pants along with the knife. I cut mine down and rounded it over and now have no problems. CRKT has a great opportunity here to put out two great frame locks at an affordable price. I just hope they see it. Even with these issues I'd recommend it.
