Hello all,

Just received my first Kabars and I have to say I like em! Maybe not the most traditional models, but both are goodins. I picked up the BK24 and the Dozier folder (3") with the hole not the stud. There is nothing special about the little folder on paper, but there is just something about it. Light, sharp, just the right size, and a great compliment to the 24. I got the handle scales and clip for the 24 sheath and its a very comfortable set up. I wont say its the greatest sheath ever, its a little loose, but I prefer that to too tight. As long as it doesn't dull the blade too much (not sure if that is still a problem) I will be satisfied with it.

I have had many knives over the years (I am sure I will have many more too), but I have to say, I don't think they will do anything better than these two. Couple that with what I consider to be a reasonable price and they are real winners.

Thanks for letting me drone on about what you all already know ;)

Forgot to mention that I got these at a good price from Tomar's. Excellent service, PayPal, fast shipping and even included a catalog. Great experience!

We are pleased to hear you like them. Looking forward to seeing some photos and hearing the stories after you put some mileage on the knives. Thanks and enjoy!

Thanks. I mostly use my knives for rather dull and menial tasks so there wont be any interesting pics from me I am afraid. As far as stories go, I did already cut food (and my finger) with the 24, and trimmed my fingernails with the Dozier ;)

Yes KA-BAR makes a variety of good useful blades. I also like the small folding Dozier's. I think they are one of the best value's on the market. You can pay a lot more for a lot less knife.

Dozier folders are up there with Moras and Vic SAK's as far as bang for the buck. The BK24 is a great knife. Congrats on your purchases.

I don't have a Ka-Bar yet, but I will soon. I have been learning everything I can about knives and bushcraft. I don't have money to burn so I must be absolutely positive when I pull the trigger. What seems to me to be the case is: for the money they can't be beat. And not just that - they seem to run circles around almost any knife at any price. And they get used. Hard.

Mine will be a BK-9.

And thanks to all you Beckerheads for showing a newbie the way!

There is just something about that little folder. I purchased several knives at the same time (all costing more than the Dozier), but I find myself carrying the Kabar. Dozier in the pocket and 24 on the belt makes a damn fine combo.

I know there are two separate forums, but are Becker's still considered Ka-Bars? Or are they considered a separate brand that just happens to made by Ka-Bar?

here is my humble collection of kabars along with a cold steel gladius. i love each one dearly and its hard to have a favorite.
