I was browsing the Exchange, saw two pieces that looked interesting. One was larger than I wanted, the other was around 6.5" long, just under 3" blade... I'm always suspicious of "tacticals". I don't really know the Camerer knife name from Adam but I decided I liked what I saw and ordered the piece. I've had disappointments in the past with buying 'blind' items, and Craig assured me via email that I could return it if I did not like it.
Well... I LIKE IT! This carbon fiber handle is one of the most natural feeling handles I"ve ever gripped. Though a relatively small knife, it tapers in thickness a touch towards the butt end, filling the hand much more than its size would indicate. Though designed ( I think) for a saber grip, I typically hold a knife in a hammer grip, this knife just melts into your hand. It also works real well in reverse grip. No sharp handle edges here, everything is radiused/smoothed beautifully. This is, I dare say, almost like a glorified shank with class! OK that is not intended as a slight, this knife is classy cool and solid.
It is a traditional (as I understand them) clip point, the point being fairly low. I believe it is 154 cm, heat-treat is unknown. Knife spine is 'swedged' roughly an inch and a quarter back from point. Knife is slightly handle-heavy.
Criticisms........well, I like a lanyard hole, this one has none. The kydex sheath seems just fine, though nothing is as good as the kydex sheath which came with my Mickey Yurco piece, I wish this had a touch tighter fit and shallower print. Having said that, I think this is an excellent piece for around $100.
I find his work top notch, and hope you do too.
