Just recieved my CF military a few days ago, and MAN I'M IMPRESSED. I have used a military for work (forestry/tree planting etc) for over a year and didn't think it could get any better. The CF is a big step forward. The peel-ply is very impressive... feels better than the G10. The steel is amazing, can't wait to use it more as i'm new to bg-42. The action is SMOOOOOTH, probably thanks to the better spacers? Looks like the blade is a little thinner and the CF scales a little thicker. Just can't believe what a nice blade it is.
Thanks Sal and Spyderco crew!
Oh, i did decide on taking the black paint off the clip so now it's just polished steel. I understand the practical side of a black clip, but now it just looks amazing!

Yeah, it's OK.

Actually, it's FANTASTIC! :D

Actually, there are few folding knives that are as comfortable and relaxing to hold and use. And it's blade needs no introduction to the venue of razor sharp edges. It takes no prisoners. I only wish it incorporated a multi-mount clip for tip-up carry also.

can`t wait to get my bg42 carbon fiber military......... not long now , then after that i will buy myself a titanium a.t.r

how big are we talking when i do get this thing? about the same size as a cara cara?

Schweet.
I'd love to be able to handle a CF Millie, just to see what the peel-ply CF is all about. My G-10/S30V version is my favorite tactical, and I thought (still do, really) that it'll be the last tactical I ever buy. But, each time I see the CF version I think again....

yes , my millie finally just turned up ! man what an awesome knife , and it has the number on the blade : 068v , what does that number mean?

It's a "Collector Club" version, wonder if you got it from the same place as my FG Endura, it also had a collector number on it.

Since we are on the subject of Millies, I love mine. It was my first Spydie, and the one that I compare my meager collection of Spydies too. God I love it.

So much that I'm seriously giving thought to having someone replace one of the G10 slabs and turning it into a tip up, titanium framelock. I know I can't be the only one that is thinking that. I'd love to have my own Spydebenza...

Now if only money wasn't an issue. I still need to win that lotto.

I'm hoping that wasn't Sal & Spyderco getting rid of the last of the BG42 sitting around with no plans to ever use again.

I understand it is expensive and can be troublesome to deal with but it is well liked and the people here are clamoring for more. There are several knives in the line that would be perfect for a sprint. I'm not even suggesting stopping of S30V as the primary hard use steel but BG42 is perfect for sprints, along with M4, The mighty S125V, 20CV, etc. There are also other japanese steels to explore also. Sorry for being a broken record but that's my job here. One of them anyway :') Joe

For hard use steels, I'm glad to see Spyderco go with VG-10. I've done a heck of a lot of use and abuse with knives made of this steel and it performs much better than most of the other stuff out there. It was designed for Japanese horticulturalists to make plant grafting knives out of. The stuff gets sharp and stays sharp. It's also tough as all hell.
I think the primary reason that it hasn't caught on more, is the fact that the folks in the town in Japan where the stuff is made, won't export the steel itself. If you want a knife design made from VG-10, you will be having it made over there.
That's strictly my, very personalized, opinion. Feel free to let me in on yours. That's what these places are all about right?

PS. My CF Mili should be in my hands by Friday.
