Just got my Ratmandus yesterday. This is my first Swamp Rat knife (but not my first from the Busse Family)
Got to say I love the size and shape of this knife.Fits the had well not to big.
In my opinion this would be a perfect knife for a soldier it is just the right size. I have BATAC and it feels a little awkward in my hands and is just a little to big for me, and the wide blade, while better at chopping would not be as good as a general utility\fighting knife in my opinion.
Now my big dilemma is which one do I like best the Muddy or the Blackg10/ Lt gray.

I totally agree with you about the Ratmandu being the perfect knife for a soldier. It's small and light enough that it should be easy to carry around, yet big and tough enough to handle most any chore asked of a knife. It would be a pretty good knife as a fighter in a pinch, but soldiers have much better tools with them for handling threats (an M4 beats a knife every time).

My favorite combo is the green blade with the tan micarta scales (that's what I got). For a soldier the Spec Ops sheath would be a great, economical choice, as it fits the knife perfectly, has a pouch for carrying a leatherman, and has molle straps on the back for attaching to whatever gear they like.

Chiller, I got the exact same thing at Blade, a Muddy and a Light grey/black.

The size is very nice. The Little Mischeif handle fits me well.

I was waiting for the Rat Trail, now the only Rat I'm waiting for is the Mastiff.

I still wish that Swamp Rat would have built the Mini Mojo around the Little Mischeif handle.

CongRats to everybody on their RMD's! :D

The more I handle mine, the more I like it. Wish I had gotten 2. I got the Muddy because I've got a Muddy FBM it looks awful good with - I was thinking the two might make a good combo for one of Dwayne's piggyback sheaths. Hmmm....

That would be sweet

Tha Ratmandu is trying to become my favorite small-to-medium sized camp/work knife. I haven't got to put it to hard use yet, mostly just handling from the lazyboy chair. Can't wait to get it outside and put it to work...
