I wanted to do a post in regards to my impression and observation of the EDC.
TLDR: It’s awesome. It exceeded all my expectations. It assuaged all my fears.
I was already impressed with the black magic voodoo Nathan performed with 3V steel; getting a 61 HRC without having a fragile and brittle blade. But the ergonomics just took this knife to the next level for me.
I have large hands (4 3/8” across my open palm) and I was really concerned about the handle size. I was also concerned about the shape of the handle with the perceived curvature. As soon as I held it in my hand, all fears were gone. The end of of the handle is resting on the meat of my palm when I use it, but there isn’t a hot spot or any discomfort. Amazing is all I can say.
I come from a construction and engineering background (26 years) and I am still in awe of not only the mastery of the metallurgy (finding that elusive hardness/ brittleness sweet spot), but also the design of the handle, contributing to an unbelievable package.
The ability to bring out the absolute best in the metal while mastering the ergonomics, and marrying those together in a superbly engineered and designed package? Wow. Just wow. I am definitely hooked on CPK’s.
