Was out at the range today and they got some new knives in they had not had before... (getting impressed with their selection). Anyway, I was able to handle the BM630 Skirmish , Spyderco Manix, and BM 520 Purdue.
I was very impressed with all three. In fact, I added all of them to my wish list. All seem to be very good deals, especially the Manix. Very solid well built. Much has been writen on this one but just my .02. Very good knife for $$. At least from what I could gather after handling it in the shop.
Next is the BM 520 Purdue. This is also a fullsize knife but is super smooth and feels very good in the hand. I like the aluminum panals. The Axis lock is awesome. I also love the blade shape, very versitile.
Skirmish... big, and tough looking. This is going to be my backpacking folder. No need for a fixedblade with this sucker. Titanium lock is also very strong and knife opens in a flash. Can you tell I like the bigger knives.
Note: Got lucky today when I got home. Picked-up a used BM 630 off the board here. Did not plan on buying so soon but got the bug. Check that one off my wish list
Hope this helps someones decision. Now if I could get my hands on a Lone Wolf Ranger T2 somewhere.
