Hello everyone!

I got last week my most expensive folder yet (I paid near MSRP price due VAT etc ) Spyderco Urabn Slipit. I had previously EDC'ed Spyderco Caly 3 and Delica 4. Somehow and sometimes those knives just feel bit big.

Not everyone are fan of Spyderco Urban. My version is Fliage green with leaf shaped blade. FFG and lowriding wireclip.

Short of it: I love it!

long version: Its quite compact, blade around 2,5". Linerless G-10 handles but all steel one piece backspring-liner combination makes it really solid. Blade has half stop as security measure preventing it accidently close on your fingers, since Urban in a slipjoint. Albeit with finger choil design halfstop seems just backup security measure. However the double snap you open the knife gives Urban very nice and unique character. Like traditional forums says: Impressive walk and talk

Urban is downsized Spyderco UKPK and fills excellently spot for small, sturdy yet lightweight knife for any urban dweller. Finger coil combined into half stop makes it practically impossible to make blade close on your fingers (though I have never heard such with slipjoint before) unless you really try to do that.

Sal and Spyderco: Thank you! Spyderco Urban is excellent knife. I thought I would not be impressed after i got ZT 0500 and Spyderco Caly3, but I was wrong. Urban has impressed me greatly. The little things combined with good materials and excellent F&F makes this near perfect EDC for urban dweller.

Who needs a lock if you can get spyderco designed slipjoint? I feel more secure with Spyderco slipjoint that 3/4 of linerlock knives. Its all about little things in design, that spyderco does so well...

Now if I could only get Spyderco Urban in S30V or ZDP-189...

p.s. Pictures will follow soon.

Welcome to the Spyderco Slipit club. I have all versions of the Slipits and find myself carrying the Urban in foilage green the most. Spyderco has brought a great knife to the market. I just really love these knives!

I had an orange Wharnie and carried it for a while and honestly it was all I needed most of the time but I was one of those who just missed having a lock, if nothing more, for the widget factor.

Great knives regardless!

I like the Urban models, as well as the UKPK and the rest of the "slipit" knives Spyderco offers, as better alternatives to the more common slip-joints, e.g. the Case, Old Timer, etc. knives.

I carry an Urban every so often, usually due to regulations inhibiting my choices.

I like the Urban as well, I have both the leaf blade and wharnie models. I carry an orange leaf
blade (I swaped the blades over) quite alot and find it to be an excellent little knife. :)
