Impressive knives for impressive prices

Wow.... Just looked at the going prices on the auction currently, and those are some impressive numbers! $3,775 for the sculpted CQC-8 with tweezers right now! The lowest number I saw on there was $975.

That's impressive. This shows me that people really do have the money to spend on quality items, and that they know what they want. But, is this also a sign of things to come? Online auction shows vs. physical knife shows?

Also, I don't remember which were mentioned that they'd be standard EKI knives soon? I know we are seeing new ones (Gypsy Jack, Gentleman Jim, and Road house right off the top of my head), and which of these are going to stay as production lines?

Thanks, and just WOW these are impressive knives. I wish I had the cash to spend on them.

im hoping that the gypsy jack, and gentleman jim get put into production. as much as i like them i just cant afford the custom price tag...

the roadhouse looks really cool, like a cqc 7 and 8 combined, i hope that gets put into production.

i think the gentleman jim is going to be a production knife...i hope it comes out soon!

i would like to see a production roadhouse as well...they are all awesome knives!

I'm almost certain the Jim is going into production. I don't know about the Roadhouse and the Jack but I sure hope they do.

I'm still stunned that some people would pay so much for a knife. With the amounts people are bidding on a single pocket knife, I could get that nice flat screen television I've been looking at.

Obsession and the collection instinct are strange things.

Different people, different priorities...

I watch all of an hour of TV a week. Only bought a flat screen (whopping 19") because of the loss of the analog signal. I don't have or need cable, and don't feel I miss anything...

But I do use my CQC-6 every day...

Oh, certainly.

My girlfriend can't understand why I spend as much as I do on weapons. I can't understand why she spends as much as she does on shoes. Different priorities.

That still doesn't stop me smacking my gob when I see someone drop three grand on a piece of metal that folds up and is good for subdividing things, but will probably never be used for that purpose.

Nope... they won't be used... those high end ones are likely to be living on a bed of velvet in a steel box if they ever get to leave the boxes they arrive in... sitting in the cold, dehumidified dark as their knife-soul slowly ebbs away and they become little more than investments living in the blackness...

And that's a damned shame.

I don't buy a dog so I can keep it in my purse and show off its fru-fru haircut to my friends.

I buy a dog to keep it as my companion. I trust it. It accompanies me wherever I go. And I keep it around so that people are afraid to be bitten.

Hey BE--- I appreciated you email. Thanks broh. ;)
Me wants a production Roadhouse... minus the swedge.

My pleasure. I'll let you know if I find any other CQC-7s. As for the Roadhouse - well, we both know that's all on Mr. Emerson.

I sent my two Emersons over to Mike. I'm now waiting patiently for them to be finished and returned to me. Then I'll post pics!

I was hoping to start my Emerson custom collection tonight in the auction, but wow, the prices went sky high. Wanted the custom 15, but it was just too much.

Are there other ways to get a custom 15?

I was chasing the Super CQC-7 and UBR Commander for awhile. My limit for a custom Emerson is around $1500 or so. Much more and I can't justify it these days. I have many custom Emerson pieces, and all but one (vintage early CQC-6 with threaded bolster) get used hard. I got most of mine by ordering from Ernie and waiting xxx amount of years, but the price was right too. I figure the prices on this auction went high since there is no wait and no need to attend a show for the normal lottery procedure. I'm an Emerson addict, but my wife would kill me if I dropped $3500 for another one!
