No surprise, bottom line of a longer story.......

Handed my Bureti khuk to a chef of several years.

Random comments I recall:

"Oh, a khukri"
"This looks like good steel.....what kind of steel?"
"nice edge......anyone could sharpen this easy"
"this is nice"
"it's good to see a real kukri, this isn't
anything like the tourist kukris I've seen before"
"Thanks for bringing it in."

This all while turning and feeling every edge and surface,
and with a tone of real 'wow' in his voice.

Like I said, no surprises,
but first time I've shared one with someone
who could really appreciate a good blade.

It's always nice to meet a fellow knut who knows his stuff. I've made a friend in the local knife shop, we just speak the same language. He said he likes talking to me because he doesn't have to explain terms or anything, I just already know. :) I said the sentiment is mutual.

Did he offer any thought about using one in the kitchen?
No, but it was a quick pass.
He runs a 'vintage'-bread store now and we were both in a hurry.
We'll see in the future.
