Improvements that would get Hinderer an award at BLADESHOW

FYI..Hinderer received an award for the XM-18 and several of his other designs from Blade magazine. How long have you been making knives? It is amazing that you feel this is the way to provide feedback to a respected knife maker.

Watched your video a while ago, I really think you have quite some nerve to post a video on youtube let alone in a manufacturers forum that says that fit and finish and tolerances (!) are not up to your standards on Hinderer knives.....

People who never owned a Hinderer would think that they are getting a poorly finished knife, I myself owned a lot of high end custom knives and can only say their knives are one of the best if not the best when it comes to overall fit, finish and tolerances.

I am not mentioning any other manufacturers names but I would choose a Hinderer over any other manufacturer out there, not only when it comes to fit, finish or tolerances but also for the overall technical design of the knife and the use of materials such as blade steel.

Since I started buying and at a later stage collecting these knives I had a lot of them in my hands and not a single folder or fixed blade had any flaws whatsoever and not one was poorly finished or had noticeable scratches.

Boost popularity? Improve fit and finish??

What rock have you been living under??

I usually don't post these kinds of post because it causes drama and I know that Rick and the crew don't like drama, but....

This needs to be said.... You have absolutely no idea how detailed Rick is when designing/building his knives. Instead of wasting time and making a video. Use that time to research his processes so this way you don't come on here and make a complete ass of yourself by posting such a ridiculous thread.

Seriously... Boost popularity? Improve fit and finish???

Scratches caused by metal shavings on the Teflon washers!!?? Wow!!

@rickCPD: +1

I missed the part of "boost popularity" yeah they really need a popularity boost.... :eek:

I see the OP's ploy.....attempt to reduce popularity & facilitate more additions to his line up of XMs and pens.

Not sure why a video on his impression of the XM needed to have a line up of 5 XMs and pens followed by the dropping of "I have ten XMs". Maybe he has Hinderer insecurity issues?!

I agree with some of the observations with regards to the finishing, all of my XMs exhibit this but the play in the blade is something none of my XMs exhibit.

The XM was not created to be an art object, if I was so fussy about the finish I'd refinish it myself but, these are tools and tough ones at that.

IMO the XM is the ultimate folding knife and nothing will sway that opinion.

It's a work knife. Rick does not build knives to win awards, he builds them to help his customers get work done.
