Improving fit in Wooden sheath

I'm making a tanto sheath and have opted for a wooden sheath. I cut the wood in half along it's length and hollowed out a section for the blade and tang using a dremel tool and ball engraver attachment. After gluing everything together, the knife is complete (shy of dying and clear coating.)

1) Does anyone have a better way to hollow out the blade and tang sections?

2) When I draw the knife the blade is a little shaky in the sheath. Is there anyway to fill the gaps between the blade and the sheath without messing everything up? I was thinking of filling it with wood glue and repeatedly drawing and re-sheathing the blade.

I'm just throwing this out there. Not sure if it will work or anything like that, but maybe hot glue? Like use a glue gun and put some in there, then keep re-sheathing the knife. I'm sure that way when it dries up, atleast it'll be easy to clean the glue off the knife/sheath.

I know there is a book on Knifemaking by Bo Bergman that explains wooden sheaths very well. Check it out of your local library.
