Hi, All:
I was in the field playinng arond with my 18" AK, and i noted that it seems secure in the sheath, due to the bend in the knife and sheath. If I ran with it strapped to me, tho, it would pump up and down in the scabbard, which may not be safe or secure.
Heres'what I did:
I took the hair tie (those kind that are like rubber bands with cloth around them) out of my hair, looped it thru itself and the little leather loop at the top of the belt looop on the frog, and gave it a double twist around the raised ring on the khuk handle. Not only is this a cheap fix, but it is so secure! I tried to shake the khuk out of the scabbard, but the rubbery hair tie provided enough resistance, and it tightens as the khuk tries to escape. this holds the khuk securely in the sheath even when running, jumping, falling, rolling etc.
Just wanted you all to know I finally found a use for that curous small loop of thong on the belt loop part of the frog.
Keith
