So I am not here to bash on becker sheaths, but since I was bitten by the Becker bug I have wondered about other options for sheaths. Obviously there are some really nice leather and kydex sheaths out there custom made by guys that frequent this forum, but I also wondered what other sheaths there are out there that will fit a becker?
I found a great deal on a "used" Spec Ops combat master sheath for less than $30 shipped. It still had the tags on it, brand new. I dropped the kydex insert into some boiling water for a minute then put my 2 in it and pressed a little and now it is like the thing was made to hold a BK-2. I really like it. I can't wait to get some micarta on my 2, it will go great with this sheath.
Moose posted pics of a tweener in a Spartan Knives sheath that I really liked and am still thinking about, but I also found that my 17 fits perfectly in my Condor bushcraft basic 5 sheath. Nice soild fit, good retention. I plan on using my 17 for big game hunting and this is will be a great sheath for me. Sleek, smooth, small. Just a nice little minimalist leather pouch. The whole set up cost less than buying a custom set up so I figure it is like saving money on the sheath and getting a free knife to boot.
What other improvised or oportunistic sheaths have you come up with for your beckers?
