Improvised scales on a Becker Necker

I think the boys a BK&T have , or are coming out with scales for it, but I doubt I'll be able to get them here, or they'll cost too much. Any ideas on what I could try ? I have basic shop tools and a I" sander, rivets, etc.
Plastic such as nylon or something would be a first choice, but wood is an option also. I own the newer model with the wire notch on the butt. a handle that would be about an inch longer than the knife is an idea also, as the BN has a short handle. I reckoned I'd get a better response in M, T, and E . Thanks.

I can't see them costing too much as you only live in Canada.I'm in Ontario my self.You may not be able to find them there,but you can sure as heck order them.As for make shift scale's I'd probably go with a nice type of wood.
But there's all kinds of stuff that can be ordered off the net,that can be used if you put your mind to it.;)
