I went in to my local gunshot to purchase a new revolver---a .357 Magnum Smith & Wesson Model 686 7-shot with the four-inch barrel (I'm proud of it :D)---and saw a Needs Work sitting in the display case near the checkout counter. I decided to buy a new knife to go along with my new gun, and I am very impressed.

The Needs Work is my first Kershaw and I've already decided to purchase a new Tyrade instead of Crimson Trace grips for my Glock 19. My knife addiction has priorities now!

The edge was the sharpest I've ever gotten out of the box, the edge retention has been phenomenal, lockup rock solid (especially for a liner lock), the ergonomics fit my hand perfectly, I love the Wharncliffe-style blade, the tension of the pocket clip, and the fact that it was made in the USA. I'm also now addicted to SpeedSafe. :)

Thanks, guys, for making such a quality product.

God bless.

KATN,

Wade

Congrats on your new knife and S&W, Wade, I am sure that you will enjoy both!

Welcome to the Kershaw forum.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kershaw!

Nice pick up on the Needs Work, and on the Model 686! As for the Tyrade, I'd definitely snag one, since they were a limited run!

the Needs work is a great knife - i just could never get the thing to clip to my pocket! Too much clip tension :(

I had the same issue with my ZT 0400. I wraped a rag around a butter knife and slid it under the clip and pried up. It worked.

How's the grip on the Needs Work? It always looked a little fat to me.

It looks a little fat but feels fine, at least to me...:D

Welcome, steelscout30!

The Needs Work is a real sleeper in knife value and a knife that begs to be worked...

Enjoy!

Ray :)

Oh you're gonna love that Tyrade :D

How awesome would a combination blade & framelock on a Needs Work be? :) *hint hint*
