I was perusing a well known dealer earlier today and noticed an excellent price on a Matriarch 2 Emerson Wave so I went for it (with free expedited shipping). I own an Endura 4 Wave and like it a lot and read an article on the concept recently. I know this is a bit of an uncommon model but any other owners on here? Anything I should know?

BTW, I bought it partly as a curiosity piece and partly as a backup self defense option (I carry a sidearm), and a little bit for the fact that it's just plain mean looking!

I love mine. It's SD blade when I'm going into places where gun's aren't allowed or if I had forgotten my gun. I usually leave it in my car because it'll be a good seat belt cutter too.

I love mine. I work in LE and it's a fantastic blade for SD. I carry two knives, but I got this after a brutal fight with a guy drunk guy blasted on OxyContin. Despite a broken leg, jaw, and ribs during our fight he managed to dislocate my knee and was on top of me grabbing for my gun. In a real SHTF scenario you want something that is open ready to go with the most basic motor skills.
A couple other Ofc's have purchased one after seeing mine.

For HS graduation my daughter got the option of picking any knife from my collection (includes customs and a sebenza.) She chose the Matriarch I. I've carried it for years for SD (never cut anything to speak of) so it was still factory sharp and she always wanted it "just in case".

That's exactly why I bought it (it just arrived today), for when I can't carry a gun or if I were in a hand to hand struggle for my gun. That story is brutal, hope you recovered fully and he got some serious time. As a family member of two LEOs and friends of quite a few more I can say for certain that you guys have probably the most thankless job in the world, you deal every day with the worst parts of society. Stay safe.

I just picked one up also. Not only is the thing real mean looking but it quickly bit me. Man is that thing nasty!

It’s my first waved knife and I’m absolutely sold on it. The waved Matriarch is a great knife :D
