I am on vacation in florida visiting my GF parents, tomorrow we are heading to my uncles who I haven't seen in a long time. We went to wally world to pick up a few things for the road trip and I figured I would see what they had in the knife section.
To my suprise they had a few kershaws, OD-1, zing, leek, blur and I think one more but I can't remember. I was eyeing the OD-1 but the zing with its blade grooves has intrigued me for some time now, I decided to get it and try out the advanced cutting power of a knife with grooves. I must say for a knife with a price tag less than $40 its not your average cheapie.
The blade appears to be hollow ground and just like my past kershaws the edge is one of the best factory edges, not many polish the edge anymore. The only thing I cut was the package the knife came in and while that's kind of a unfair first test it seemed to do very well. The other things I really like about this knife is the humped back spacer, thickness of the lock and the very strong detent. Because of the tight detent using the flipper is very easy and makes it seem like it is assisted even though its not. Thanks kershaw for you amazing QC you seem to be one of very few manufacturer's who don't let the bad ones get through.
