I've wanted a Mark 1 since their release a few years ago. The stacked leather model has always called out to me; however, I ended up getting a Kraton handled Mark 1 from the exchange on a whim.
Well, it arrived today....

So far so good! The Kraton has a nice grip and the knife feels good in-hand. I can't wait to get it out and give it some proper use. The sheath feels secure and it carries well on a belt with the sheath tucked in the back pocket.

Threads like this are more fun IF they include some good use, but I wanted to share the good vibes (as the hippies say) since new knife day is always a good time. I'll see what I can do this weekend about putting it to some good use. :D

Congrats on the "new" steel man. I bought one of these for a friend of mine, and got a chance to use it a fair bit before I sent it out to him. Its really a great knife.

Congrats man. Those blades have piqued my interest on more than one occasion. Sweet looking blade.

I really, really want one of those right now. But I can't seem to pull the trigger on it, due to the price being so close to its big brother.

The Kraton MK1 usually goes for ~$45 IIRC, is that really that close to the Kraton Big Brother? Or are you referring to the USMC?

The USMC is what I mean by big brother. On Amazon the USN is about $58 currently. Depending on which version of the USMC you're after, that's either seven bucks more, or twelve bucks less.

Nice pick up. I've always loved that blade, there's just something about it.

I gotta get one soon.

Hey Jerry, nice snag! I love my MK1. Can you see if you can cram a tweener in that sheath? Just curious...
Thanks!

I've been playing around with it a decent amount here and I really like it still so far.
No, my BK16 won't fit this sheath. The 16's blade is a bit too tall.

Aww bummer, it fits my leather, was hoping it'd slide into the tacticool. Thanks for trying!
Gotta grab me a MK1 user to mod to match my camp knife.

No problem. I had my MK1, BK16 and my Ontario SP2 USAF knife out and messing around with them anyways.
