had a few snorts and decided to have a cigar... well maybe more than a few, lots of snorts.

about 9 years ago when the cigar craze hit i got involved with it, i bought with a frenzy, every fine cigar i could think of. some were crap and some were really good. (flash back), i smoked cigs and other things starting at twelve years old and quit everything at 33 yrs. old.

so now i smoke a pipe a couple of times per week and about 4 cigars per week... well (back to the future) tonight being blasted, i decided to smoke a cigar. i looked and found a few sticks of opus x in the bottom of my humidor.

here's the story about this cigar i'm about to put a torch to...

about nine years ago i had this guy who worked for me, he got married and his new wife had a sister who lived back east in vermont. well i wanted some opus X's and they were far and few between and only to be found on the east coast.

this guy got married at Niagara falls and said he saw some of these opus's back there. mmmmmm (i said) maybe you could call your wifes sister and she could get me some? well he did and she did and i have have about a dozen just sitting around looking at me!

anyhow down the road this gal (back east) got divorced and moved out west and i lost my supply of the then hard to find opus.

now for the rest of the story....

about 4 years after i got these opus's i became single. my worker friend and his wife took me to lunch one day and this gal showed up to dine with us. yup, it was vicki and a couple of years later we got married.

and she was the very same gal who bought this cigar for her brother in-law to give to me who she didn't even know!

small world huh? and the knife in the pic is her baby busse steel heart.

now you know the "rest of the story"....

You are a lucky man in many ways. Even more surprising, you seem to realize it and appreciate it. [Most of us 'old boys' are rather oblivious...]

Keep smiling, keep enjoying...and hold onto that good woman.

Live every single minute of your life.

Great story. I was looking for an excuse to go smoke a great cigar before I unravel my nerves in the Ganza. I happen to have an Opus X #2 that I have been saving. Thanks for the post Skunk. Timing should be just right.

Man it is a small, small world.
Very interesting story... could not have worked out better:thumbup:

That is a neat story. Some things are meant to happen in our lives! Very nice knife too! How soon can we expect them in the store?:D

Blah blah blah blah story yada blah blah.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS GONNA BE TEH GO-BUTTON FOR BLUE/BLACK G10 WARDENS!!!!!!!!

(Great story. Not a Opus X fan, but have enjoyed many cigars. Even back in the boom years, I never had trouble finding good cigars at decent prices. I remember scoring a box of Padron Anni's back when they were new. The next day, another vendor CALLS me with another box. :O Yeah, I bot both boxes. $400 worth of cigars in 1998. That was a lot of jing for me back then. I enjoyed every one of em too. Oh, and I paid MSRP, believe it or not. No 20% markup. I got Anni's in the hey-day for list. And was the envy of ASC for it.)

OK,Scott. That did it.

I thought I was done smoking today. I had one cigar while walking the new puppy we rescued from the pound. Then a pipe with Christmas Cheer 1998.
BUT now I'm just gonna have to break out an Anejo or a PAM to have with my Guiness. @#$%, I hate that!!!!

BTW, you can just ship that BLACK&TAN Game Warden. Don't wait for my order:D Please wait a week after that to ship the BLUE&BLACK one. THANKS.

Where do you people get your cigars?

The FFOX are released to cigar retailers only a few times a year (3 maybe 4 times). Typically they will only sell 2 sticks per customer per day. I have found some retailers that will sell an entire box!

I have bought many FFOX boxes on an auction site and it ain't FeeBay.
