I just finished paying off my mortgage! Final payment was due January 1st, but I called for payoff yesterday, and paid it off. Now I can start breathing a little easier.
 
Oh man, congrats John, that must feel awesome. We just got our first house and signed up for a 30 year mortgage, seems like a daunting task but I'm hoping after several years our income goes up and the payments seem easier to pay.
 
Awesome. That has to feel great.

We just moved in to our new home in September; only 357 more payments and it's mine.

What's going to be the first completed knife coming out of "Your House"?
 
We will be going out to dinner in a couple of weeks to celebrate this and another important event, our 29th wedding anniversary!

29th anniversary and the mortgage paid off, you and Connie sure have some celebrating to do.

Great news, congrats! I can't wait to get mine paid off. Still got a few more years but I'm gaining on it.
 
Congrats! We paid off our house 4 years ago. I'm glad everyday that I was a "cheapskate", and made extra mortgage payments when I was younger. Semi-retirement is better than what I thought it would be. I wish the same happiness for all BF members. :)
