One of Bill Moran's Damascus quillion daggers.

Hmmmmmmm............ Ok, Jerry Fisk, Joe Flournoy, Micheal Bell, Tim Zowada and Bill Moran all get together (yeah right), give me a call and invite me to there secret meeting place for some lessons. There they make me a nice dagger, sword, battle axe and war hammer set.

Mike Lamprey produces one of his folders, this time with a stainless handle, which would be entirely engraved and inlaid by Ray Cover Jr., after Dave Broadwell gives me one of his spots on Ray's waiting list, gratis.

This was actually Ray's idea, as he and Dave passed my Lamprey back and forth at the Chicago Show. He suggested (with a wink) that the handle was sort of "empty", then the color drained out of his face after Dave told him it was solid Ti. I offered to have one made with SS, if he'd push me to the front of his wait list. He laughed so hard the color came back into his face. Then Dave suggested that he would "sell" me one of his spots in line...

Tough call, but since I don't want to be greedy around Xmas time, just make it a large Sebenza, personally hand-made by Chris himself. He can present it to me in Hawaii. Where he can meet my new twin girlfreinds. Who happen to be very, very rich. Tis the season...

I'd want to wake up to the rara avis of customs: a Michael Walker button lock with steel/titanium bonded blade. I don't even know where to look for one on the secondary market, and his waiting list is ?

This is Santa Clause. Your wish may come true. This spring, Joe Flournoy, Bill Moran and Michael Bell and myself will be at the secret meeting place [abs hammer-in. You are invited. There will be demos of swords etc.

I would probably, no DEFINITELY, would want one of Edmund Davidson's integral swords. If
you ever get the chance to hold one then you will understand just why.

Jerry- What about my dagger, sword, battle axe, and war hammer set?? ;-)

I am planning on attending the next hammer in, also plan on entering the cutting competition...so there should be plenty of laughs!!!!

Matt.

Jerry,
My Christmas wish list would have been one of your knives except that I recently acquired a Sendero Hunter from Larry - I fell in love with it when I saw the picture and when I opened the box and took it out - it is a work of art. It feels so good in the hand I want to use it sooo bad but I have others for that, though I know I could use it for years and it would never let me down. Maybe if I ever can get another I'll use it - it would be nice! Question: I noticed in the light a distinct hamon/temper line and I was wondering how you differentially temper your knives? I'm just curious.

Bill

Mr. Bill

Thanks for the kind words. Your Sendero is 1084 oil quenched. I bring up just the edge to temperature and quench.
Right now I have started playing a bit with using clay and water quenching a few steels. Very good temper lines. Have also got a steel that I am playing with that as I understand it duplicates the appearnce and performance of some of the traditional Japenese swords. About 11,000 pieces to it. Good watering of pattern. Not the normal damascus patterns etc. Let me know if you want one down the road.
Glad you like the Sendero. I have used them for years in the field. One of the best all around hunters I have used. This year is the first time in 10 years I changed styles of hunter. This year it is a folding hunter. Let me know if I can ever help you with anything.
