I dropped off the penny guard on saturday to the happy new owner. we got to talking. and next thing I know he is showing me some of his knives I got to handle all of them some of the makers I knew, some I did not. I took my time and looked them over very well. And I found myself to be in very good company. if you know who the collector is plase do not say, out of respect for his privacy. He did say it was OK to make this post. from left to right we have Tom Ferry, Harvey Dean big and small, Burt Gaston, D Lisch, Jerry Fisk, Steve Dunn, and Ed Caffrey above is a Mike Ruth. There is about 5 Harvey Dean's laying around and at least 5 Tom Ferrys.

your penny guard looks right at home buddy!:cool:

Nice line-up. Actually, your beautiful penny guard seems to be the most elaborate guard there. Maybe we're witnessing the beginning of a new trend in knife collecting. :D

Dave, your knife fits in well with the other knives.

Here is a picture of Dave selecting more sambar stag tapers:

Thanks Chuck Now every one knows how I get the good stuff and by the smile on my face it looks like I found another good one. News flash AKS has a new batch of stag tapers and they are the best I have ever seen. I was not smiling long after this pic Chuck tells me there will be know Blade West:mad:

Your knife deserves to be in that profound line-up, congrats to you Dave.

Are you saying Bladewest is no more, is cancelled???

I received an e-mail from Krause Publications saying Blade West was canceled for 2010.

I recently heard Blade magazine is helping sponsor the USN Gathering in Las Vegas on Labor Day weekend 2010.

Dave and Chuck that is terrible news, now I have to find something else to do that weekend. Chuck did they give a reason for the cancelation?

I also got the letter from Blade West. They said that to serve the needs of the knife community best they will concentrate on the Blade Show in Atlanta. I'm sure its all about money. I tried Chicago instead and decided that Blade West was better but now thats its cancelled I applied for Denver PKA Show. I've heard good things about it. I'm looking forward to it.
