there is nothing quite as enjoyable and memorable as waking up on a frosty winters morn, ice crystals on the edge of the brook, a sharp chill in the air, and the sun trying to warm up the woods............one gets up, shivers and curses, throws the sweater and boots on, and pumps that old coleman 2 burner stove. The scratch and hiss of a wooden match, the sulphur smell, the smoke that drifts lazily thru the woods and the hiss and whooomp of the naptha gas lighting.

Yes, the lowly strike anywhere match. A timeless classic

I have to agree that the sound effect of match exploding into life is much nicer than the clicking of a piezo ignition.

Curious – looks like you've added some risers to the tip of that Becker with a Dremel. Why that? Do you find it offers you advantages when knife fighting?

the big knife is a BK2. I use the main blade area for chopping and slicing, and the serrations for fuzzstick fuzzies and rope.

I dont knife fight. too messy. I prefer to use my bare hands and feel the life slipping away.

Eww, I won't dirty my hands on something that fits under mah boot. ;-)

Seriously now, as far as non-domestic knives go the only other one I've seen done like that is a Busse combat job.
