Hard to believe it’s been 24 years since America changed forever. My oldest kid is now the age I was when 9/11 happened. It’s a shame that anyone born after 2001 will never know the pre-9/11 world. Seems like since 9/11, time has accelerated. Everything has accelerated. I yearn for the pre-9/11days. IMG_0257.jpeg

Talkin' story:

I invented the ball bearing lock for that model. I studied the Towers from 360 degree views until I settled on the view from the park in New Jersey, where Mohamed Atta planned the attack. I drew the skyline myself and had the Skylines cut with a wire EDM to set into the handle of the model. The antenna was .011 wide. The Police and Firefighters sent us the steel from tower one, which is what we cut the skyline from.

Many of the Fire fighters, EMTs and Law enforcement Officers carried our knives. That was our market.

When the clean up crew was having trouble cutting the fiberglass drapes, we engraved several hundred Rescue models, engraved them, "In memory of America's finest", and distributed them among the clean up crew.

We still have a display of Tower One Steel beams in our store, where they can be touched. Many a tear shed there.

I truly appreciate getting first hand accounts of the stuff that happens behind the scenes. It’s great to have a story of “how” and “why” to attach to a specific knife.
