Hi folks.

I used to have high boots of military style. They were made from heavy leather, originally orange or yellow collor, later turned to brown. Best boots I ever have, served me 10 years, until the soles completelly worn out. At the end they still had originall lacing. Very high overall quality.
On the side of boot was an insciption "CHECA".

I m pretty sure these were czech made boots for export purposes and I suspect lots of these ended in Nicaragua and such. But as merchandise doesnt takes sides, they might have been exported elsewhere.

Does anyone by chance stumbled over a pair of these, or is there a modern producer?

If you know first Rambo movie, its the same pattern what Stalone has at the beginning when theres a closeup on the road and the marching.

Thanks.

SPent too many years in substandard military lowest bidder boots.

There are better options on the civilian market.

If military boots were so good civilian explorers and hard core trekers would be wearing them which they dont.

100% leather in temperate climes is the way to go IMHO.

No one boot fits all. Its trial and error. When you find the perfect boot buy 2 pairs as they will be discontinued soon enough.

Not exactly the answer I was lookin for. These were all leather and very comfortable. If they werent I wouldnt wear them.

I find Magnum boots to be pretty comfortable. They feel like running shoes, are waterproof, and you dont notice the weight. I've only had mine a year, but I've already put them through a lot and they'll still as good as when I bought them.

I m kind of worried about "Waterproof". Im having bad experience with anything like this. I still didnt completelly disposed of mykosis I have since my days in service, so I stick to plain leather, which I wont sweat through in a while due to good microclima.
Other problem is that I have 39´ number. Most producers starts making mens boots from 41´ higher. :/

When people speak of yellow or orange leather boots, the first thing I think of is Timberland boots.

Yes, but these were clearly issue boots, but better than anything I have seen since. The leather was very thick, the soles inside and part of the inner was lined with very fine leather, but the real body of the boot was bloody thick.
It was so to say archetypal military specs boot, only very well made.

None resemblance to modern stuff from layers of god knows what...

Whatever. No Timberlands, the collor was intriqueing close though.

Most of the previous "waterproof" stuff I have owned was quite the oposite. Not these boots though. I wore them when I worked at the beach, I was able to walk through tide pools without a problem, they had a high top and as long as that didnt go under, my feet stayed dry. Even if it did, if you tied them tight enough(not uncomfortably tight though) there'd only be a very small trickle of water into the boots, which rarely made it past the upper part of the sock.

Terry - pattern resemblance is very close.
No stiching in soles and the front part of the boot was one piece not sewn ower.
