2006 went to Spark.
2007 went (or rather is going to jackknife).
2008 ?

Just my thought that it should go to Eric for handling 2007.

i think that the person who does a year gets one the next for the effort-

i also see no reason that if another person in someway also deserves a knife-the few extra dollars shouldnt be a problem-

so i second eric
 
Each year we chip in and buy a knife for someone. Cost is divided among the participants so it amounts to a couple or three bucks at the most.
 
My first vote is for Bastid's goat. Second goes to Eric.
BtwDid we ever hear what Spark thought of the knife or a thanks?

Yeah I figured I missed his response. I'd still like to vote for your goat however. Never has a goat put up with so much for so little. :)

Actually, I think it should be you. You got the whole ball rolling on this and got our first knife, which I know was very time consuming. Then we can do Eric, then ED T, etc.

So, I cast my vote for the goat herder, Bastid.:thumbup:
 
Bastid, I'm incredibly flattered by the nomination, but I have to agree with these guys. You started this ball rolling with the first knife (flawlessly I might add), you've been donating your time as a mod, and a patient and fair one at that, for years. Plus, you already refused last years knife, which forfeits your refusal of this one. No one deserves it more than you, and I'm sure that the vote will be unanimous on that. I also vote that any arguments to the contrary from Bastid be ignored;):D

Guys the thought is very much appreciated. It just goes against some things I established for myself long ago when Spark asked me to mod around here. (Long before this sub forum was established.) Trust me in that I would get much more joy if it went to a non-mod who we think would enjoy and deserves it.

After all I get lots of Carp for hanging around here and tomorrow is payday! :D.
 
Well, you're the mod and you maintain a peaceful,objective and mutually friendly atmosphere in this forum (unlike other places where manic abuse seems to be compulsory) so it should be you.Or else, donate it to the OLDEST member whoever that may be:D

DUH, I didn't think of that, but I think that is a pretty good idea. I would think if we get down to 25 or 30 people, we should re-think that, but your right with the numbers we are getting 2 knives are fine. DUH, what a great idea......
