What would be a good EDC recommendation? I picked up a Ka-Bar Dozier 4062 on the cheap in the mean time...any other thoughts?

I like the kershaw blur for that size.
A zt 0350 is in that range and is probably much stouter.(I haven't held one though)
A Kershaw skyline is kind of like a folder mix of a remora and a BK14. It has a hollow grind.

I have a Skyline, nice knife, love the blade shape but I need a little more "heft". I've looked at the Blur, would like to hold one.

My skyline weighs 2.5 oz.
My blur weighs 4 oz. it's still pretty light, but definately feels stronger than the skyline
I think the zt 0350 weighs about 6 oz.
My zt 0301 weighs 8.06 oz. ....it is a tank!

I use the Kershaw OSO Sweet and ZT 0300, dig them both but the ZT 0300 is sick sick sick... Come to think of it, it was Slapper's fault I got the 0300 as well as a slew of other knives.

o kershaw tyrade

o kabar phatbob

o spydero captain or other solid chunkers like the lum chinese pattern

o microtech - various

o benchmade - various

o cold steel? (yeah, they make some good ones i hear)

When it comes to folders I like Benchmade, I have a couple that see duty in my EDC rotation.

Check out the SOGs in VG10. Nice, solid knives. I've been EDCing the mini Vulcan and love it.

I have a Griptillian and have for a few years now, I just need to send it back for a steel upgrade but have been putting it off...I dunno why.

Never held a Spiderco I didn't like, the big loop thumb push is really nice. Zero Tolerance is great but can be pretty expensive, well worth it though, 0200 is very nice. TDI folder is what I have on me right now, I don't love the liner lock but i like the angled blade.

Great knife for the dough, is a Buck Vantage Pro. S30V blade, G10 handles, Bos heat treat, Buck warr., all for under $60.

Good solid feel, locks up tight, stays sharp forever.

Been my edc for about a year now.

I have a fallkniven u2

It's a awesome little knife.

Vg-10 steel or you can go more expensive and get the 3G model. Both are convex and scary sharp.

I like the looks of this one, think I'm gonna order it.

The Ka-Bar K-2 Komodo.

I held a cold steel spartan today. It felt really solid and not over-bulky like I thought it would. I want one now.

On the high end, like Bladite said, Chris Reeve Sebenza. Lots of good Spydercos to be had. I also agree with Cobra281, the Buck Vantage is a great design, your choice of steel: Select - 420HC, Avid - 13C26 razor blade steel, and Pro - S30V. If you like your Griptilian, go to Knifeworks and look at the special edition Doug Ritter RSK Griptilians, with high flat ground, stonewashed S30V drop point blades. Besides basic black, you can get orange scales on the large, and yellow scales on the mini. So many knives, so little time...

Check out the Buck/Tops CSAR-T LinerLock w/G-10 handle. VERY stout folder. Definately is on my list. It is solid & tight. Has a thick blade & seems very sturdy. I have the fixed blade version of it & i LOVE IT !
