(Finish of the tactical kitchen knife will be improved and scales added, once the heat-treatement has proven itself.)

Thanks for looking,

Keno

Very nice looking, Keno. I really like the edged prybar one:thumbup:

the top one is a Japanese design ( or at least they have an identical kind of knife)
The bottom one I like a lot. Some nice wood on it would make it look less menacing and would help bolster claims of pure self-defense.
" All I had was a fruit knife!"

~3mm on both of them, so even the "small prybar" (indeed it's intended purpose will be "prying open" beer bottles) still has some cutting ability left, despite the thick grind.

the kiridashi is chisel-ground, the "tactical kitchen knife" is ground on both sides. both 0 bevel.

danny, once i am sure i did good on the head treating (they *should* both have about 61-62hrc) , it will get scales, likely horn or bone scales. it'll serve as a multi-purpose-camping-cooking knife.

Nice looking work Keno! Your stuff has good lines.

Nice work and picture, thank you

75cr1, a cutting steel with 0,7-0,8%C and a very little bit of chromium, but it's certainly not stainless. Primarily used for high strength and wear applications such as circular saw blades.

HD is right, and that was the idea I had when posting this. I was looking at the results of my work, and thought back on who made me start and try myself.
I'm still wondering as to why he left, such as many others. I guess that's life, it goes on, people find new places. And then they leave again there, too.

Hope everyone is alright.

Keno
