I am in need of the correct DC motor controller for my iron horse MTPM-1P5-1L18 motor. It’s 1 1/2 HP. 90 vdc
1800 rpm. The motor controller I bought has given me nothing but fits. I’ve been through 3 of them and they all fail to perform right. Ie surging and not getting full rpms or not running low enough or high enough speed. Surging being the biggest of these problems. Can some you smart people help me figure out what controller I should buy to allow proper variable speed control?

Check the brushes in the motor, jogging is a symptom of them needing replaced or refaced. to reface them just touch them to a disc sander, making them flat and new looking. I do that to my Bader machine occasionally, when it starts to jog and act weird.

the motor I bought new and have only used it a few times but I’ll try your suggestion and let you know if that was it.

Definitely not the brushes. It’s the controller I believe. Every controller I have gotten has produced a different result. This one I’m now stuck with worked great for a couple days and now it won’t let me run past 75% speed. It starts surging.

If you can't figure the list from KB, call them and talk to one of the reps or techs. They will help you pick the right one for your motor.
