Hi, I'm looking for a Swiss army knife that will fit in dress pants without bulge and contains a file & scissors.

Thank you,
Mr. Brown

That would be the Classic. If you want something larger get the Ambassador.

Also maybe the medium sized (74mm) Executive. I mean, everyone needs an orange peeler, right?

If you are considering the Classic, get the Classic SD as it adds a screwdriver tip to the file with no increase in weight or bulk.

Try a Director instead of the Executive since it is much more classy with all stainless steel scales. It has the same tools as an Executive without the inserts.

Moneyclip and companion got my vote since they build to last and elegant with thin alox profile.

The Victorinox Director or Companion would be nice options. Also beautiful are the models from the Wenger Esquire Sterling Silver series.

Damn, scissors huh? My first thought was the Cadet as it's one of my two favorite Sak's, the other being the Farmer.

The Cadet is very flat and I consider it a gentleman's knife, but alas no scissors.

I find that I need scissors. The Rambler is a nice package. A little thicker than the classic, but I really like the magnetized phillips tool.

The Manager would also be a nice option. That's a Rambler where the toothpick is replaced by a pen. I have a Midnight Manager on my keyring and use the pen more than I thought. Several of those smaller SAKs also come with translucent scales in different colors, looks nice.

The Manager is probably my favorite SAK of that class. A little thicker than the Classic, but still de minimis on the keychain. There are a bunch of tools crammed in on that little thing.

As a 'stand alone' carry I'd go for anything that takes your fancy from the 74mm Vic range (several mentioned here already), though my personal choice is the Ambassador.

Moving up in size you're looking at a Vic Compact or a Wenger Diplomat and Pocketmate.
