In need of an EDC

Hi all,

This is my first post here so I hope this is the right place to put this. I am relatively new to the knife world, so I am hesitant to purchase without a recommendation. I am in need of an EDC with some specifications that I will detail below. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was looking at the knifekits.com's GPC folder kit, while I like the style, I would prefer something that I do not have to put together and make scales for.

So, I am looking for I knife that:
Has a blade length of 2.5 to 3.5 inches
Can be deployed with one hand
Has classic more refined lines
Preferably has scales made of natural materials e.g. wood bone etc.
And now for the hard bit, costs less than $70

I don't know much about different types of blade steel, but something that can hold an edge for awhile would be preferred.

Here is a photo of the knifekits.com's GPC for reference.

Thanks again,
GFB

Honestly the best thing to do is look on knife websites and find a handful of knives you are interested in. It makes comparison much easier.

Thanks for the replies. I have used opinel knives and I am not really found of the locking mechanism. The Kershaw crown is one of my options, but as I am extremely picky about aesthetics, it lower down on the list. I don't suppose there is something like the Case slimlock in my price range, is there?

Spyderco dragonfly, not a wood handle or anything but you'll love it. Zdp189 version will hold an edge for a long time, though I M not sure the price but I'm sure it will be around the 70 dollar mark

I'd recommend a mini smatchet, but you could do worse than check out the relevant Spydercos. Go to your local knife shop and handle a few. I had an frn Dragonfly and loved it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am still doing my research, and considering options. Does anyone know if Pioneer Valley Knife and tool has a brick and mortar location? I live pretty close by.

You can always look into picking up a kwik thumb stud/bar and adding that to a traditional knife or buck 110. Won't make the knife quick to open as if it was built to be flicked open most likely but it will allow you to open it with one hand. It may be something worth looking into.

EDITED IN:
Cold steel also has the Mackinac Hunter and Lone Star Hunter, and possibly a few others I haven't really looked into it much but it looks like it fit your criteria.

Kabar Dozier, CS AK-47 mini. Or any of the other suggestions mentioned. There's a lot of choices.
