In need of ideas...

Especially colors. I need ideas for handles. I’m talking about basic stuff like what colors to put with what wood, will that handle “match” the type of knife, etc. Here’s what I like to use and I’d appreciate feedback on what combos to use....
1) I have and love to use darker figured desert ironwood, bocote, and plain old maple in light tones. I’ll save the burls for a real work of art and I ain’t there yet. Not into purple heart or odd colored wood
2) I like a liner on a knife, usually 1/16” so it’s seen better. I mainly like more dark tones like a nice evergreen and I like it to contrast with the wood. BUT, I also like neon green and safety orange liners, though I only use black G10 form those two. Not into blues, purple, or reds...
3) My main focus is on drop point hunters and camp knives.
4) I haven’t tried multi piece handles with spacers between two or three different materials, kinda like that Slavic Telly fella. Though I think his handles have a lot possibilities and I’m a fan I wanna stick to the basics. I do have an idea for black or brown g10 bolsters, light colored maple, and a spacer of some type and color...
Feels like I’m rambling but...ideas?

Here are a couple of my handles, for inspiration maybe?

3rd and 2nd to the last are gorgeous. I didn’t think of two different color spacers.and I’m digging the 3 different materials. ‘Course my knives themselves don’t compare either...!

Howdy, phil. Not sure if this is what you were looking for, but here's some examples of dyed curly maple I posted in another thread.

I spent the day gluing up scales...I have a big order of spacer materials coming so we’ll see. Thanks for all the ideas, fellas.

Can you answer what handle material this is? Do you use a buffer to finish most of these polished parts?
That's paper micarta, finished to 400 grit and very lightly polished on the buffer.

I finish my handles differently depending on the materials and the finish I'm going for. Some of them involves using the buffer with different mops and compounds.

Thank you for the reply! Will be picking some up, really love the way you’ve worked with it and you’ve definitely sold me! :)

I also have a sheet of cherry red liner on the way, I think it will look great with grey micarta. Also could not resist to get some fluorescent orange liners that I'm gonna pair up with solid blue/grey g10.

Haha Yes, that idea has occured to me. But on a knife it would look a bit silly :) Blue G10 has a plastic crayonish kind of look to it unfortunately. The solid blue/grey on the other hand, I think has a lot of potential!

The Bright Red G10 I've been getting from Texas Farrier Supply is a nice solid red. Not that dark translucent stuff.
