In praise of the Case Sway Back Jack & Gentleman

I just carried this one yesterday. Great pattern and people seem to comment on it more than some of my other knives. I think it's the bone that draws them in. :)

This is my only SB, a Kane Cutlery anniversary LE.

Here is mine the day it arrived, strangely it still looks much the same as i do not understand this mania for patina..

Let me start by sayin' that ever since the resurgence of the Swayback Jack with the Bose/Case collaboration release a while back, I've always wanted one, never even heard of the pattern till recently.

A while back I won a Case Chestnut Bone CV Swayback Jack in a giveaway from Brutus013 a forum member here at BFC. Thanks again. :)

That was over a year ago and it still rides either in my watch pocket or in my "man bag" (with all the crap I carry it's nice to have bag for all of it) bus it's always within reach and used frequently.

One of my favorite minimalist patterns to carry these days.

Excellent earned patina. Oddly, and for the longest time, I couldn't wrap my head around Wharncliffe blades, or a knife less than 3.5" closed, but I too have come around, and really like this Sway Back pattern. I won a GEC Viper, and that blade really jelled it for me, and now I'm on this bizarre quest of accumulating Sway Backs, whether they be Case or Case family brands (I don't think Crandall, Platt, and Case Bros make a Sway Back), but very unusual and unique Sway Back's are going to make their way to my safe one way or the other. For the record, I draw the line at 3" closed knives, so I'm guessing a Peanut will not be in my future.
