Biltons are something I know a little bit about, I've sure handled enough of 'em. Three are now carried by female NCOs in my squadron, one belongs to my daughter, and another to my sister. Ah, but "Bilton Six" just arrived yesterday with the boogered up WWII, and I'm selfishly and steadfastly going to hang on to this one. This one was made for me. The Bilton's don't carry maker's marks, but this one smacks strongly of Sher's handiwork. The blade is heavy, well shaped, and has the "semi-convex" bevels, but the give away is the handle which is pure Sher. If you have one of his khuks, and have compared it to others of the same style by different kamis, you know just what I'm talking about.

Anyhow, this one's so good it's going to ensure my trusty JKM-1 gets some "R&R" from EDC knife duties. The chape's coming off the scabbard, which will get my now "treatment of choice" buckskin cover (y'all ought to see my AK villager lately;) ), and the frog will be replaced with a homemade "super frog" of sturdy cowhide. I've got a good scrap of an old file left over from making a knife, and some of that exotic Amazonian hardwood Pappy gave me. Can y'all say chakma?(a karda would be superfluous to a khuk this size).

Bottom line, I love knives, I make 'em, I carry 'em, and I use 'em, a lot. When I say the Bilton is a delightful little belt knife that's a great bargain at thirty five bucks, I say it with all sincerity. If you haven't tried one yet I reckon you ought to.;)

Sarge, I love that sheath u made,It is sweet:D.Did u wrap it around the old one or made a complete new one????? FRANK.

The Bilton works for me too. The 12" AK some of the neighbors take sideways looks at and they don't think much about the neck knife. But, they don't even notice the bilton hanging under my shirt tail. The baby does it's share of work too.:) :)
