I'm having trouble finding a lot of options in this size. I have some particular parameters I'm after, and not much is coming up in my searches. If you know of any, please post them here.

I'm looking for something I can take to a white collar office and use without raising eyebrows, so the less agressive looking the better. The ZT 0022 is close, but over budget and a little on the agressive side. If benchmade offered a mini-mini barrage it would already be in my pocket.

Criteria:
Less than $150
2"-2.6" blade length max
Must be a back of knife flipper, not thumb stud/hole only (though both flipper and stud is ok)
Liner lock; would consider lockback or comp lock--NO frame lock
Drop point satin/stonewash blade
Non-metal scales; G10, CF, wood, micarta, nylon, poly all OK, but no metal

Plusses, but not required:
pocket clip, tip up prefrably
D2 blade or better
preferably bearing pivot, but spring assist or bronze bushings ok

Possibly in the right neighborhood:
  • Kizer Microlith
  • Buck Vantage Select or Pro Small
  • Buck Vantage Avid
  • Kershaw Scallion
Wrong blade shape but otherwise about right:
  • Brous Silent Soldier (import line)
  • Kizer Vanguard Mini Sheepdog
If I had your specs and budget I'd buy the Microlith. :) Good luck in your hunt!

Already have a scallion with aluminum scales. I realize I could get the one with nylon, but I kinda have this thing about buying the same knife twice when there’s so many others out there I don’t have. It’s just about perfect except for the aluminum scales are too slick. With the small size I’m always fumbling with it. That’s part (but not all) of the reason for the “no metal scales” criteria.

I will look at the others shortly. Thanks for your input.

The buck vantage is a great knife. I have a full sized one and am planning on the smaller one to carry to work. Not too expensive but a great everyday user knife

I don’t know how I missed the microlith. That’s about as on the nose as I could ask for. Right at the top of the budget—and the cheapskate in me may have to consider the vantage small for $100 less. Decisions decisions.
Thanks again.
